contact us for an info pack. TRIAL INTRODUCTORY FLIGHT (TIF) During your TIF you will be at the controls of a helicopter. Before your flight your Instructor will brief you on what to expect, how the controls work and which controls you are able to use during the flight. After five minutes in the air you will be trying out the controls one by one until the instructor gives you all the controls and lets YOU fly the helicopter under supervision. LICENCE REQUIREMENTS The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) lays down minimum training requirements for each licence sought. The requirements for each licence are detailed below. HELICOPTER PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE (PPL-H) • Be at least 17 years of age • Hold at least a class 2 medical • Passed the Private Helicopter Theory exam • Completed at least 50 hours of helicopter flight training • Passed the Private Helicopter flight test HELICOPTER COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE (CPL-H) • Be at least 18 years of age • Hold at least a class 1 medical • Passed the Commercial Helicopter Theory Exam • Completed at least 105 hours of helicopter flight training • Passed the Commercial Helicopter Flight Test HELICOPTER ENDORSEMENT TRAINING If you already hold a Helicopter Pilots licence, we can offer endorsements on a range of helicopter types.
